The Dyson Hot Cool Fan is a recent addition to my smart home ( see here for more the review! ) that I’m really enjoying. It keeps the air fresh, warm, or cool depending on what it senses in the air around it. One large problem for me though is that lack of Homekit support. Using the Home Assistant Open source project I’ve been able to expose the Dyson Hot Cool Link to Apple Homekit and use it within automations, voice control it using Siri and just generally take advantage of all the goodness that is Apple Homekit.

If you haven’t already seen the HomeAssistant Homekit setup, please check out this video first as that’s a required pre-req to get this up and running.

In this video, we’ll go over setting up the Dyson integration and seeing exactly what gets exposed out to Homekit as well as giving us a quick taste of what’s available from a Voice Assistant and homekit automations point of view.

If you’ve got any questions or concerns, please post below and I’ll do my best to answer them. Please keep in mind that I’m not a HomeAssistant expert and I’m really focusing on Apple Homekit piece here.
